The long hallways fill with students.
Some have looks of happiness,
Others put on fake smiles.
Only four minutes to get to class.
The preps think it’s not enough,
Some others think it’s way too much.
Segregation is obvious.
Students with black clothes on one side,
Jerseys and polos on the other.
Thirty seconds left to get to class.
The segregation fades into a population,
Every student is moving again.
Only one more hour until it happens again.
When the hallways fill up,
And the segregation begins.
Hate it or love it.
This is high school,
This is real.
